About CGCO

Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra has long been part of the musical life of London, playing in venues and festivals across the city and the south east. Our members come from many different professions, and are drawn together by the desire to create and share our enjoyment of high-quality music-making.

Our musical programme

Over the years we have become renowned for programming the unusual, unexpected and contemporary alongside the familiar: recent concerts have included Concentric Paths by Thomas Adès & Tryst by James MacMillan and CGCO has commissioned a new work from Cheryl Frances-Hoad, which will receive its premiere in April 2019. We have worked with many fine young artists at the start of their careers (Nicholas Collon, Andrew Gourlay, Harry Ogg, Tamsin Waley-Cohen) and built musical relationships that have flourished over many years (Peter Stark, Robert Max, Raphael Wallfisch, Graham Ross, Scott Stroman), providing a testament to the ongoing quality of our performances.

Hear us play!

Each season, we perform a series of concerts in the beautiful Victorian church of St Peter’s Notting Hill. We can also be heard in other London venues such as St Pancras Church, St James's Piccadilly, Southwark Cathedral and St Jude’s-on-the-Hill, Hampstead. Our choral partners include Eclectic Voices, City Chamber Choir and Choral Societies in Newbury and Billingshurst.
